After this Reddit guys experience you will release that Barclays bank is not the best place to do business if you receive identical results as this poor guy on Reddit. The guy posted his story about going into 200k of debt overnight on Reddit but before all this happened, he said the bank would not allow him to go into £10 worth of debt never-mind an astonishing £200,000.
The guy on Reddit said he walked into his local Barclays branch located in Halesowen to find out how he ended up in this much debt. Never mind the poor guy believed it was all a mistake made by the computer systems. Behold the Barclays cashier at this point told him he was in fact in debt and needed to pay it all back.
Soon after speaking to one of the managers in the Barclays bank, she tried to resolve the situation once and for all. To do this the manager had to ring up the Indian call centre for Barclays to find out more information. Yes…that is not an error; the manager had to use an Indian call centre to find out more information about the situation.
You think Barclays would have more internal resources available but this clearly is not the case. The transactions on his account had been “forced” according to the manager but soon after providing that informaton, the Barclays bank in Halesowen had to close. So now the guy has to return in the morning to further get the problem resolved.
Keep in mind that this guy claims ESA and has Asperger’s syndrome so he does not earn a whole lot of money. Now on the bank account for the transaction it has a code titled “BLT” (not Bacon Lettuce and Tomato ) and none of the staff have any knowledge to what it means…so they frantically go running around to find out. In the meantime this poor guy is left without any money to feed his family.
Finally the poor guy is able to take out £290 given to him for his benefits, from the Barclays bank; even though he is in 200k worth of debt.
At the moment the guy does not have anything sorted and is still living in limbo with no explanation to what is going on. Is Barclays a bank you want to do business with considering this guy’s story? I’d think twice on where to place your hard earned money, as Barclays bank is plagued by scandal after scandal!
Now Rihanna’s new song “B*tch Better Have My Money” sums this Barclays scandal up nicely!
