The BBC have received over a hundred complaints regarding how horrendous the new format for the BBC Wimbledon highlights show has become regarding the set changes. The new set has a wedding party / night club feel to it that has completely diminished the feelings of many people who find “talking heads” rather than “more tennis” to be the final straw for many tennis viewers of the BBC Wimbledon highlights show.
In response to the complaints, the BBC has decided to scrap the horrendous wedding party / night club set and go back to basics. It would seem that the new set was fixed on taking a page from the Big Brother set design in hopes of becoming more hip with the younger audiences…but that didn’t quite work out to well when it has already been scrapped.
BBC Wimbledon host John Inverdale was dismissed from the show so that the BBC could focus on making the program more relevant to the BBC Wimbledon’s target audience. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions if you want people to take you seriously, considering how one dimensional John Inverdale was in regards to his method of broadcasting.
It is safe to say that the BBC just levelled themselves up and now more viewers can enjoy the “more tennis” aspect of the BBC Wimbledon highlights show!
