It has been a long week for the ‘Lemonade’ single with Rita Ora coming under fire for allegedly being ‘Becky with the good hair’ but everything has eventually paid off. The beyhive can rejoice that Beyonce has cracked the number one spot on the Billboard charts with her 6th number one album ‘Lemonade’
The ‘Lemonade’ album has sold around 653,000 equivalent album units to become number one on the billboard album charts.
The beyhive will be happy with the current success of Beyonce in 2016 and the album is considered to sell more by the end of the year than most artists. Drake is still performing well with his new album ‘Views from the 6’ so there is competition between Bey and Drake on who’ll emerge with the highest sales figures when all the dust has settled.
Although The Formation World Tour has been plagued by poor ticket sales at the Nashville event.
It’s great if the album sells well but if you go around the world on tour, you want everyone to buy tickets. At least 90% of available tickets should be sold out otherwise you damage your reputation when a storm of ‘half empty’ articles take over the internet.
Still the number one album for 653,000 equivalent album units is quite an accomplishment in 2016.
Beyonce puts on an entertaining concert. So we’ll see how the weeks progress in the ‘Lemonade’ world of Beyonce.
