Britney Spears has finally released her new first single titled “Pretty Girls” today, even though it was leaked late last week. The review is here and the song is quite interesting from a commercial perspective as it doesn’t have that recycled sound currently littering the radios.
Britney Spears got a helping hand by Iggy Azalea to duet with her on the song. It seems Iggy Azalea is promoting the “Pretty Girls” single as though it’s her own first single, based on Iggy’s social media posts.
The song opens with Britney Spears singing “All around the world, pretty girls” and it seems the promotional strategy would see the song hopefully be incorporated to become a female anthem. The sounds used in the song “Pretty Girls” are soothing and relaxing but it seems in certain parts of “Pretty Girls” that Britney Spears had her vocals slowed. I could be wrong but it might be a last minute creative decision.
Iggy Azalea provides outstanding vocals especially at the beginning when she raps “windows roll down” with her extremely deep voice. It gives the song some much needed impact. The lyrics during this verse are quite fun:
“Tell me, is it true that these men are from Mars?
Is that why they be acting bizarre?
Every time I walk out of my house it’s like, ‘Hey, baby!’”
Either way “Pretty Girls” was easy to review as it is quite interesting and deserves credit for being different. This is defiantly a song that Britney Spears should be able to sing completely live during the Billboard Awards later this month. A top 10 hit on the Billboard charts isn’t out of the question.
