You might not have heard the news at E3 this year but the 5-year-old game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is receiving a Special Edition, NEXT GEN REMASTER.
Yes, people, Bethesda instead of working on a new game completely, Bethesda want to cash in on the Xbox 1 and PS4 fan base with a fancy remodelled and slightly updated version of the game. Skyrim is not an RPG (role-playing game) as some might think.
Skyrim is an action-adventure game and will feature many graphical changes such as snow shaders, God rays and a lot more exciting visual features. I don’t know if there is an audience that still wants to play the hell out of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, when the audience would have already played the original to death in the past 5 years.
For people who have a lot of free time on their hands, they would get down and dirty when the game is eventually released on the NEXT GEN platforms. As well, Skyrim Special Edition supports PC mods.
I still don’t think the game merits a remake and Oblivion deserves to have a makeover, rather than Skyrim Special Edition.
There will be people who will scorn Bethesda and there will be people who’ll play the game to death. Which side will you be on?
