The PC gaming market is becoming more bizarre by the minute with the Grand Theft Auto 5 PC version having 7 disks with a total of 65 GB to install. That is a lot of work just to play a game but what’s even worse is the online store version totalling a 100 GB download. This is due to files not being compressed like the retail version of Grand Theft Auto 5.
Keep in mind a few years ago Grand Theft Auto 4 was released on consoles but eventually made its way onto the PC years after. Grand Theft Auto 4 on the PC was a golden ticket to a train wreck; on the PC platform. The game was an awful lazy port plagued by constant crashes. The game also refused to work on the latest and highest performing graphics cards released at the time.
Grand Theft Auto 4 PC was basically deemed dead or alive until many updates became available everyday by developers, who had a hand in making the horrendous port from consoles to PC.
Ones expectations that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will not have the same issues that plagued the previous version on PC is purely non-existent. And a 65 GB install over 7 disks is a lot to ask for in this day and age. It would be stress-free to download the game through an online store – if your provider doesn’t throttle your internet connection.
