Lil Wayne has been going off on one with his record company Cash Money Records over not being paid his fair share, as contractually obliged. In the contract it was stated that Lil Wayne would be given 8 million dollars once he began working on the new album Tha Carter V., back in 2012. Then once the album was delivered to the music executives, he’d be owed another 2 million dollars.
Apparently this is not the case, therefore Lil Wayne has decided to lay down the law and demand 51 million dollars in a lawsuit filed recently in Manhattan Federal Court.
This is starting to turn into a tricky situation as other high profile rappers are also on the same label as Lil Wayne. Could this all be down to the record not finding Lil Wayne’s material to be commercial? Are the record executives thinking Lil Wayne couldn’t sell millions of albums…so don’t wanna pay out more than he’s worth?
There is a lot of drama yet to unfold in this high profile lawsuit with Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records. We’ll keep you posted on any developments!
