Madonna started her Rebel Heart concert last night at the Manchester Arena and came out just over 1 hour late. This appeared to frustrate many fans who arrived early to the venue and then had to sit around waiting for the Rebel Heart concert to start.
During the Rebel Heart Tour last night at the Manchester Arena there were several songs missing from the setlist and this included the “Dress You Up / Into The Groove / Everybody” melody and a guitar song. Many fans were left baffled when the concert didn’t have a proper ending and had cuts during the middle section – that it became quite noticeable to everyone in attendance.
In 2012 I was at Madonna’s MDNA World Tour and she came out around 1 hour 30 minutes late but that didn’t stop me having an amazing time. Madonna puts in the hours and work, to deliver for every fan each night, regardless of the circumstances.
Madonna issued a statement on Instagram after the media branded her a “Diva” over stopping the Rebel Heart concert early. If only they had all the facts!
“FACTS: its good to have them before you jump to conclusions! The Entire video for my show crashed as I arrived for sound check. The back up file was corrupt. We had no choice but to reboot and pray for a good outcome. The video lights 75 % of my show. We cant play in the dark. We were rebooted and ready by 9:30 even though we planned to go ion earlier.
I had to make cuts in show before show started. Dress you Up was one of them and my 3rd guitar song. This still brought us past the 11:00 curfew! But we went on and the venue was kind enough to extend till 111:39!!
It was there choice not mine to end the show!! always want to finish. So we all missed the last 3 songs! And I’m sorry about that. And i thank all my Rebel Heart fans for understanding! We did our best! And we still had to pay a fine! That life. 😂. PS you still got to see an amazing show. And only missed. 12 minutes!! The ❤️ #rebelhearttour goes on”
Madonna said she had the video files crash as she arrived for sound check and then those same files became corrupted. Some of these files control the lighting that will display during each performance on the Rebel Heart Tour. As you can expect Madonna was probably freaking out and the curfew would eventually kick in…preventing her from performing.
Madonna was able to have the curfew extended to 11:39PM by the area…but still had to pay a FINE!
If Madonna was such a “Diva” she would not perform for 2 hours every night on the Rebel Heart Tour, sweating like a stuffed animal. Anything naysayers say won’t stop Madonna from carrying on with her highly successful Rebel Heart World Tour.
Dozens of fans on social media said they still loved the Rebel Heart concert at the Manchester Arena last night – despite the concert being stopped early 😌👍🏻
