Madonna uploaded a controversial and graphic photo to Instagram displaying a woman who seems to be tied up, abused and left in a forest naked. The photo has Madonna’s Versace campaign face edited onto the face of the naked woman.
Madonna wrote this as a caption:
This is art! Don’t try to censor me! If you don’t like it don’t follow me! . If you don’t understand irony i am not the girl to follow. Fundamentaliist literalism is the death of art. #unapologeticb*tch
From a simple observation of this Instagram photo either correct or incorrect. It displays a woman suffering at the fate of an unidentified man while having been sexually assaulted. The bondage cuffs signal loss of control and ability to freely make choices, while being forced to suffer the unidentified man’s fate.
Then the woman is left for dead after being completely humiliated. Therefore Madonna’s face edited onto the naked woman signals that it could be anyone of us in a similar situation.

Any idea what Madonna meant by this controversial, naked woman’s photo?
