Mum Nicola Austen aged 37 decided to treat her kids, specifically her daughter to a total of 12 bags of cocaine for her birthday bash. This is considered a class A drug by the government.
Nicola Austen didn’t see the issue with supplying her kids with drugs, until the police busted into her house back in January 2015 and discovered 5.65 grams of cocaine, worth around £300 / $465.
Her lawyer said:
“It is to her great shame she finds herself in court. She appeared to have left this sort of thing behind / They were [only] going to London in a limousine and she wanted to make sure they had a good time.”
Instead of receiving a few years behind the slammer, Nicola Austen got off with a little bit of community service. This involves 250 hours of unpaid work that may or may not get completed, depending on the various excuses she’ll eventually offer up once she gets summoned.
The reason for the non use of a prison sentence over community service was that her kids would suffer without the mother around to look after them. The judge then agreed that it wouldn’t be right to summon the mum to prison based on the current circumstances.
The court system is in shambles when a mother can supply her daughter with 12 bags of class A drugs for her birthday and not even receive a prison sentence. At the worst case it does stop the family being destroyed by not having their mum around…but is Nicola Austen even fit to mother her kids?
