The Super Bowl Half Time show didn’t fair with the recent list of current pop stars especially the lackluster performance by Katy Perry last year. So the NFL executives announced on Twitter the new performer set to perform at the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl in 2016 would be no other than famous band ‘ColdPlay’.
The NFL decided to go with something different than the same old formula being used for the past couple of years. That’s just hope that the formula doesn’t involve the technical glitches that destroyed the performance of The Black Eyed Pears at the Super Bowl.
If this happens Twitter will be in meltdown mode come the 2016 Super Bowl Half Time show.
We can still expect a solid performance and it will probably be one that will have everyone involved singing along. Now we wonder what the 15minute set list will be like. Hopefully all the great hits are included throughout ColdPlay’s career.
In the video promoting the video, Chris Martin said:
“We are so excited and honoured and thrilled to be playing the half-time show.
It’s going to be wonderful and I hope we see you there.”
There will still be many who find the stat power of Katy Perry and the low media presence of ColdPlay to be branded a train wreck booking. Lots of people expect the biggest names in music to be gracing the stage.
Someone like Taylor Swift or even Adele putting on an amazing performance, although Adele has a string of concert dates coming up in early 2016 for her highly successful album ‘25’.
We can still enjoy the 50th anniversary of The Super Bowl and see how everything unfolds with ColdPlay come 2016.
