You would think women would help each other?
Senior Entertainment Editor for the Huffington Post, Stephanie Marcus seems to think that women should not associate themselves with people from their past. So hit out and attacked Selena Gomez for hanging out at a Justin Bieber concert this past week.
Stephanie Marcus penned the negative article with the title:
Selena Gomez Still Associates With Justin Bieber And That’s Disappointing
This is the kind of mentality that keeps women pinned down in society. We call this ‘the b**chy woman’ who likes to control your life and everything within it.
If you’re one-minute late home from the office, she’d have a full fledged interrogation as to why you weren’t on time. This is why women get a bad name in society, at times. You don’t go around telling other women they can’t be seen with X because it’s a wicked, selfish thing to do.
Selena Gomez essentially dated Justin Bieber around the time both hit the spotlight in their respective careers. So there is a bond that can’t be broken. Growing up in the spotlight while dating will bring you closer, as it isn’t an experience that can’t be shared with just anyone. It’s a once in a lifetime experience.
The Huffington Post need to have a chat with their writers / editors before allowing them to publish such drivel. I hope Stephanie Marcus gets a life lesson in why people might loathe her style of writing, as a woman you should build other successful women up, not judge them and rip them to pieces.
We need and want strong women in society. Be an inspiration, not a discredit to society.
