Starbucks is set to launch a new hot drink…yes a (new style of) coffee. Although Starbucks has completely flopped in Australia with stores closing down left and right because the drinks aren’t at the quality locals expect, far off in Australia.
So crafting the most perfect flat white is meant to make coffee lovers flock to Starbucks in droves. Then you have the question of asking ‘What is a flat white?’ because it sounds like a knockoff version of a latte.
A flat white is quite similar but crafted differently. Firstly two intense but smaller sized espressos will be used. Then the most important part will be what distinguishes a flat white from a latte…so secondly the milk will be steamed into a special micro foam and then poured into the coffee cup.
So that was confusing?
- Two smaller espressos (more specific in size)
- Steamed milk in a micro foam style (distinguishing factor)
There you have a Starbucks flat white. The drink will go on sale this Tuesday 6th January 2015 and will be an all year drink…I guess this would secretly depend on sales being excellent.
Do you think there is really any difference from a latte vs. a flat white?
