WWE have released a new promotional video to promote SmackDown’s move from sister network Syfy to one of the biggest channels in America – the USA Network.
This is a huge move as SmackDown has been the C show for near a decade as WWE Monday Night Raw is considered the only show worth watching with WWE NXT falling behind in second place.
There are still a lot of people wondering will SmackDown become like RAW once the show airs on the USA Network on Thursday January 7th.
There is a lot of scepticism surrounding the move and it would be interesting to see SmackDown air live every Thursday night on the USA Network. This is the only way Vince McMahon will allow the show to grow.
Much like SmackDown grew during the ruthless aggression era when Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman were General Managers. The show was produced extremely well and was different enough from other WWE programming – in terms of storylines.
HHH and Stephanie McMahon made an interesting promotional video for the move to the USA Network. HHH as Chief operating officer could have more of an influence on the brand – rather than Vince McMahon calling the shots.
If this is the case…we might begin to see more people tuning into watch Smackdown on USA Network. As SmackDown on Syfy is basically a 2 hour RAW highlights show with thrown together cookie clutter matches to fill the contractual length of original programming.
So tune into WWE SmacDown on January 7th and we’ll all see if anything changes regarding storylines and bookings.
